Staff

Hitoshi MUKOUGAWA (Proffesor) >> Mail: mukou

+Research Target & Interest
Dynamics and predictability of large-scale atmospheric motions in the extratropics. Specifically, I am interested in the stratospheric sudden warming, the downward propagation of planetary waves, and the tropospheric blocking.

+Message
On the weekend, I usually hike mountains surrounding Kyoto City (e.g. Higashiyama, Omuro) with my wife.

Shoichi SHIGE (Associate Proffesor) >> HP Mail: shige

+Research Target & Interest
Physical understanding of scale interaction in precipitating cloud systems and development of satellite retrieval algorithms I'm studying how microphysical and mesoscale properties of precipitation systems varies associated with varying larges-cale atmospheric properties. Based on this knowledge, I'm also developing rainfall and latent heating retrieval algorithm for space-borne microwave sensors.

+Message
Finally, I ran a marathon (3:36:57 in Kyoto)! I would like to run marathons in cities where I lived.

Shizuka A. Ohhata >>researchmap >>Schedule Mail:ohhata.shizuka.3f [at] kyoto-u.ac.jp

+Research Target & Interest
I study the formation and growth processes of rain and snow particles by analyzing data from satellite, aircraft, and both remote/in-situ ground-based observations.

+Message
I started my current position this year. Balancing work and parenting has been a refreshing and mutually enriching experience.

Kohta TOEDA (M1)

+Research Target & Interest
I'm interested in special meteorological events such as abnormal weather and events that a certain area is affected by the weather factors of distant regions.

+Message
First of all, I will do my best to study the weather and programming because I'm still not studying them enough.
